Frequently asked Sugaring questions
The most common questions we get from our clients
Sugaring is a natural hair removal technique that uses a paste made from sugar, water, and lemon juice. The paste is applied to the skin and gently removed, pulling hair from the root. It’s less abrasive than traditional waxing, making it suitable for sensitive skin.
Unlike waxing, sugaring adheres only to dead skin cells, which reduces irritation and makes the process gentler on the skin. The sugaring paste is also applied at a lower temperature, minimizing the risk of burns.
We offer sugaring for various areas, including:
- Arms and legs
- Underarms
- Bikini and Brazilian
- Back, chest, and stomach
- Face (brows, upper lip, chin)
Feel free to ask us about specific areas!
For the best results, hair should be at least 1/8 to 1/4 inch long (about the length of a grain of rice). This allows the sugar paste to grip the hair effectively for a smooth removal.
Sugaring is generally less painful than waxing because it doesn’t stick to live skin cells. However, everyone’s pain tolerance is different, and first-time clients may experience more discomfort. Over time, as hair grows back finer, the process typically becomes less uncomfortable.
To prepare for sugaring:
- Exfoliate the area 24 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells.
- Avoid lotions and oils on the day of your service.
- Wear loose clothing to avoid irritation post-treatment.
Sugaring results typically last 3-6 weeks, depending on hair growth cycles. With consistent treatments, hair regrowth may slow down, and you may experience finer hair over time.
Yes! Sugaring is often preferred by people with sensitive skin due to its gentle nature and minimal use of chemicals. The paste is made from all-natural ingredients, which helps reduce the risk of irritation and allergic reactions.
We recommend returning every 3-5 weeks, depending on your hair growth. With consistent sessions, your hair may grow back finer and slower, extending the time between appointments.
After sugaring, we suggest:
- Avoiding hot showers, saunas, and exercise for 24 hours to reduce
irritation. - Exfoliating gently 2-3 days after treatment to prevent ingrown hairs.
- Moisturizing regularly to keep skin smooth.
